    I got an interview on cambridge for natural science (physical).

    Does anyone know whether they let you pick the topic you want to discuss yourself or do they randomly select some topic and crooss examine you ?

    Im allocated to Sidney Sussex by the way...

    You do not get to pick the topic yourself. You will get something picked at random and will be given a/some problem(s) (that will seem complex, but really isn't if you work logically through it) about things on the core A-level syllabus in your preferred subject.

    you may get asked something from your personal statement, however obscure it seems. For example I'm applying for engineering, and in my mock they asked me physics questions, about sound waves and how sounds are produced on different instruments, because i said on my PS that I enjoy music and play the violin.

    It's likely to be a discussion that you will be able to steer towards topics that you are comfortable talking about.
