Well to cut a long story short im having to find accommodation for uni as i didnt get firm and obviously like many people in this position all halls are full and im having to go with a landlord or a box!
What i was wondering is if anyone knows how flexible they are in general or from personal experience because my uni has said that there is a new halls of residence becoming available in January and they can put my name down for that. is it heard of for landlords to allow tennants to stay for a short period of time? any advise welcome.

When we were looking for our flat for this year, most landlords were looking for a longer term let ( ie. August/September through to May or even longer), but some advertised as "short term let"...I'm not sure how short a short term let is though! It's best just to ring them and ask if they'll let to you up until Christmas. Our landlord actually wanted us to take a longer contract but we managed to get him to compromise so it's worth asking. Good luck
