Who is doing one then?
I applied to do one drunk, and apparently, according to my confirmation email I shall be learning all about the 'History of Things in the 20th Century' or something along those lines.

I can't wait.

I'm doing Politics. It's only one lecture per week, two essays and an exam. I just hope I can remain interested in it.

I didn't get an option to do one unless I was doing the year in europe where I had to do a language.

I'm doing Philosophy. Anyone done it can tell me what it's like. If I'm honest I only chose it to avoid having to take any technical (engineering) electives which would I figured be alot harder than business or humanities. :yep: I'm sure it will be at least vaugely interesting.

I thought this couldn't be the case, but I checked the website and you're right. Doesn't seem very fair.

Looks like you can do one in the third year though.

Yeah we can I think. Not that I'm fussed, I'd personally rather do an elective in Computing than a humanities subject :awesome:

You need to take a course to learn some things that happened within the past 100 years that you could actually learn off wikipedia?

Ahhh I really want to do one, but I don't think it counts towards my course (not in the first year anyway IIRC) which sucks  I'd have to pay if I wanted to do one...and tbh, I'd rather use that money to buy food.

Wanted to change to Physics, didn't happen, which I was gutted about, so I emailed to at least change to JMC, they didn't reply...so just Comp Sci.

Go to imperial.ac.uk/humanities and there's an option in there to apply for one.

In the recent RAE the history department within humanities came out as the top history department in the whole of the UK. I'm doing an MSc in Science, Technology and Medicine in Society and really looking forward to it.
