Hi,

I am a 20 year old male overweight with high blood pressure. Recently I can feel my heart beating occasionally and it feels kind of weird. Should I go to the doctors?

Congrats, you are alive.
All sarcasm aside, I didn't feel this before.

You can feel your heart beating? Probably a good sign. If it really unnerves you then see your GP

It's like it skips a beat or something.

In that case, no, definitely don't go to the doctors. We're far more qualified to help you than those guys.

I think you should that doesn't exactly sound very good. If you feel uncomfortable meeting with a doctor you need to change your diet. I don't know what you eat but try and change your diet to this:
Breakfast: Fresh fruit - drink: water
Lunch: Salad - drink: water
Dinner: Fish and steamed vegetables - drink water

It is really important to drink around 2 liters of water everyday. If you drink soda you need to cut that out of your diet right away. No fast food, no candy (dark chocolate if you feel like spoiling yourself but only a little) and any other kind of food with high calories in.
Good luck.
If you need more advice just quote or pm me.

I get this sometimes. Just randomly seems to come on and I can feel my heart beating, it doesn't seem too fast or slow or irregular. It only lasts for a few seconds. I think it's palpitations.

But i'm not overweight and I don't have high blood pressure...

I can quite often hear my heart beating, I wasn't sure if it was strange or not. Mine always sounds pretty normal though..

Seriously, why do people ask students on a forum for medical advice.

And not go to the doctors in the first place.

Perhaps we're more qualified.

Who knows?

Well, you know everyone is going to say:

"Congrats you're alive/human"

or

"Go see a doctor"

We can't diagnose you on a forum.
