TV license for uni not always necessary watch

    According to TVLA - when going away to university your parents TV license does not cover you and you will need to purchase your own.
    TVLA are being somewhat disingenuous here as you may not need one.
    Check out http://www.tvlicensing.biz and go to menu on left hand side to see requirements on tv license.
    Many students may have bought a license unneccessarily and can claim a refund! :mad:

    Unlikely - pretty muvh the only cases where you can avoid a licence is if you have a pocket TV or a laptop with a TV tuner.

    I have written a wizard which should tell you if you need a licence or not.

    i can't believe you need a tv license for "streamed" programmes off the internet. someone in a foreign country might watch these programmes on the internet, and technically they don't have to pay. it's wrong.
