I would go for the 2nd option just because it has a core 2 duo, the first isnt dual core however has the HD4570 which the second doesnt.

Better processor. But it depends what you need it for...the Studio has better graphics capability. :dontknow: You decide:

Definitely the studio 15, you get a much better graphics card and they are just better overall.

edit: I see you won't get core 2 duo then :/, are you sure you can't stretch that budget? You can get around 5-6% off on these laptops by going through the dell-sci website.

I'd get a studio over an inspiron generally. Unfortunatly you won't get the core 2 duo processor with the £499 studio so it's a toss up between graphics and processor.

You can get a 3% discount in this price range from http://www.dell-sci.co.uk/ (applies at the basket stage)

Nooo......don't do it!!

I will tell anyone that listens, don't get a dell laptop. Dell do fantastic desktops, but their laptops are notorious for not lasting very long. We've had four all of which haven't lasted much longer than a year.

My advice would be to look at something like an HP. You might spend a little more money, but at least you're not only going to have to replace it again next year.

Not an Inspiron! I've had one for 2 years and its trouble. Overheats very very easily, and therefore crashes a lot. It's very annoying.
