    It's hard to explain, they involve a big grid with numbers in some of the squares and you have to join up the corresponding numbers with a line the number of the number in the squares.

    So for example two squares with the numbers '2' in would be next to each other, as you can only have a line of two in between.

    When you've drawn all the lines, you colour the squares with a line through in and it makes a pretty pattern.

    Hope that makes sense.

    I tried to find a link to one that I did online a while back, but didn't have much success, sorry.

    i'd love that. carol vorderman is my favourite. i love the clip on countdown where the letters she selects spell out a rather naughty word.

    Luckily the audience consists of no one born after 1908 so the naughtiness washes over them....

    I've no idea if that is true, but Carol Vorderman is very good at the puzzles...a Fiendish rated puzzle (using the Times difficulty ratings) can take her as little as 18 minutes according to the last report I saw....the quickest I've done a feindish in is probably about an hour...

    i read dat she loves doin them.
    i know wot u mean when u say dat theyre addictive!! i as up half the night doin it. and after id finished it i couldnt even shout (in joy!) cos everyone was asleep!!!
