Guys, are there any books on poetic form, i.e. structure, rhythm, iambics etc. or is this too general a thing to be included in one text?

Yes: this . Since you're going to Cambridge you should buy it. It has everything you'll want to know.

A decent introduction to rhythm is this.

Do not bother with John Lennard.

Far too simplistic, and he only seems to think about exams. My DoS despises 'The Poetry Handbook' and was surprised to find we had a copy in the college library - he happens also to be librarian!
