for u it can be but not for everyone
    Definitely.

This "Thread - Pointless" rings a bell for me -

Plug in your Laptop and your phone. Go outside and light a barbeque. Get a job. Eat a steak. Become a buddhist.

I can't be bothered to go on, but sort it out, there's a solution to some of the "issues".

this is imbecile did i at any point said this is wat Islam say or convert to Islam
No, which is why I asked. If you had said that's what this was about I wouldn't have had to ask. "Our Faith - Godless" did make me wonder, I must admit.

    (Original post by Janealams)
i just really dont wanna get into this arguement but keep in my mind i will not bear anything abt it too.
if u wanna argue do it on my comments religion has nothing to do with it. so keep it out
Ok. So it's in no way related to religion?

But do you not understand my point that cooking my dinner in an oven or the microwave whilst chatting on a mobile or other cordless phone is not any reason to say my life is meaningless? It's a totally huge and illogical jump (another reason I thought this might be to do with religion you see )

Life will always be meaningless if you're always looking at what you don't have and mediating over how poor what you do have is.

The other way to look at it is that because my technology is wireless then I can communicate with all the people I love from anywhere, which makes me joyful.

Based on the same logic, life would then be meaningful.

what every they want it to be

your l;ife is what you make it

if you make it meaningless you are to blame

not what is given to you

give your own life meaning and don't settle with doing nothing.

What's your point? Look, are you the guy Russell Crowe threw the phone at? Is that what this is about - you just don't like phones anymore? :p:

No, Janealams is right, it must be hard for us to sit here on our computers, with our families and friends and food on the table and money in the bank. Apart from all the people who care about us/want us to succeed, life is a total waste of time. Let's go watch the starving africans on TV.

It seems to me that in the initial post, Janealams has posted a list of the values that she holds. And I agree with a lot of them. Nowhere do I see an "advert" for Islam, nowhere in her post do I see anything that gives, or could conceivably cause offence.
What I do see are childlish and spiteful remarks from tomorrows "adults" ? I can't wait!!!!

now have a look at this
If we could shrink the earths population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look something like the following:
    There would be:
    57 asians
    21 europeans
14 from Western Hemisphere, both north and south
    8 Africans
    52 would be female
    48 would be male
    70 would be non white
    30 would be white
    70 would be non-Christian
    30 would be Christian
    89 would be heterosexual
    11 would be homosexual
6 people would possess 59% of the entire world's wealth and all 6 would be from the United States
80 would be living in substandard housing
70 would be unable to read
    50 would suffer malnutrition
1 would be near death, 1 would be near birth
1 (yes, only 1) would have a college education
    1 would own a computer

The following is also something to ponder....
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness...
you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of
imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation...
you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.
If you can attend a religious gathering wihtout fear of harassment, arrest,
torture, or death... you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.
If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead
    and a place to sleep...
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet and spare change in a dish somewhere...
you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.
If your parents are still alive and still married.. you are very rare, no matter where you live.

For me life is about making the most of the years I have on this Earth. Developing and sustaining meaningful and happy relationships with those I care about. Trying to do what I can to help less fortunate people. Experiencing many different things. You list will neither help nor hinder nor change my views. The fact is that despite the technique of finding lots of different words ending in "less" and then *drum roll* saying our lives are therefore meaningLESS your list is not relevant to anyone and is pointLESS in the extreme. In my opinion.

But in such a small population, you're bound to get genetic drift, changing the results
