Advice for all those partaking in debate watch

You should not be reluctant to accept that the views of others may have as much or more weight as your own. At the least, a key task in any debate, and in all walks of life, is to understand things from your 'opponent's' point of view.

You could say in order to have a ''debate'' in the first place, both debators have to understand each others point of view.

As for the weighting of opinions...in a debate you should try to be open-minded yet not constantly wavering in your points, otherwise you come across and someone who's indecisive or has a weak argument.
