    has anyone got the markscheme for PHY5 June 2002? if not there's a few questions i'm stuck on.

    Q. 2 part b) Describe how sound waves are converted into electrical signals.

    and the Q. 5 on page 9 worth 4 marks

    Sound waves hit the diaphragm and cause it to vibrate along with the coil. The coil cuts the magnetic field lines created by the magnet which results in change in flux linkage. As a result a voltage is induced in the coil which leads to a current flow (electrical signals). The frequency of the sound wave is equal to the frequency of the induced voltage.
