    Does anyone know what the rough grade boundaries are for an A* and an A for AQA Geography (syllabus A) - i mucked up the physical paper big time and i'm trying to figure out how well i need to do on the human paper to get my A* (fingers and toes crossed). thanks a lot

    You can't, basically. THey don't publish them. But it's usually around 80%, depending on the subject.

    For AQA its all scaled weirdly (1 mark in paper 1 is worth so much more than a mark in paper 2).

    It ends up out of 240 or something. I think 200 is al a*?

    All I remember is working it out so you had to get 60/75 on the two papers and 20/30 in coursework to get an a*.

    Thnx! Sigh of relief - thats better than i though it would be - i got full marks in the coursework
    If you do v. well in one (ie. for me my coursework) can you afford to do worse in another paper???? - or do you have to get a certain amount on each section (ie. be consistent with A* marks).

    If you're going to be bad be bad in Paper 2 - a mark in paper 1 is worth about 1.5 marks in paper 2 if I remember the scaling right.

    No, I thought it was the other way round. Isn't paper 1 supposed to count for more than Paper 2?
