I would love to be able to take my tame lovebird (they're pretty tiny parrots, about 15cm tall) into my bedroom in Lafrowda with me. Are we allowed to bring any kind of pets with us or is this simply not an option ? Thanks in advance

Majority of University owned halls say no pets whatsoever. However if you rent privately next year you might be able to depeinding on your landlord.

When I go to uni in a year I want to take my Budgie. However I was told it's a big no no. Shame really.

not sure about a bird but a friend of mine who has been to uni says its very common for people to take hamsters and hide them when there are inspections, its easy to do because they are so small!! xx

A tiny parrot sounds awesome, but I guess birds can be pretty unhygienic which is why they aren't allowed. Isn't there an episode of House where the guy gets sick because of the bird crap or something? Yeah.. all my medical knowledge comes from House

It's a no-no. No pets in accommodation. Your own house depends on the landlord.
And please tell me you have two of them? 1 lovebird is so depressing =(

I'd like to bring my pony but I think it may be really frowned upon
lol
But yea, apparently pets aren't allowed at all.

You get 48 hours notice on room inspections, and to my knowledge, noone else from the uni has been in my room this term so... not impossible.

Personally, I think it would be impeccably cruel to keep an animal in a University accommodation bedroom. Its unfamiliar, small, noisy at all times even at night, either extremely cold or hot at some times of year, and you don't spend very much time in there either apart from when you're sleeping. So why bother? Animals need attention, they need to be cleaned out, handled etc...at Uni you won't have much time for that and the poor thing will just end up being neglected. I think I'd look disgustedly at anybody who told me they kept a pet in their room.
