asking for e-mail address

I have developed this kind of questionable theory lately that I should rather be asking girls for their e-mail addresses instead of their mobile telephone numbers since it is easier for someone to hand out their e-mail address (which in the worst of cases can be spammed :P) than their phone number (which can be used for all sorts of stalking and getting on one's nerves ).Apart from that,if they don't really want to communicate with me,asking for their e-mail address instead of their mobile telephone number will exempt them from the embarassing position of denying/saying they don't have a mobile phone/giving me a wrong number and all these tricks girls invent to get rid of someone :P.So I'd like to ask..what do you girls think? Would you rather hand out your e-mail address than your mobile number?

Asking for someones e-mail address just makes you look like a geek. Ask for their mobile number - if they don't know it, give them yours.
Just do it.

Being indecisive is wussiness. Displaying wussy traits to someone you're attracted to does not make them feel attraction for you. Get emails. Get digits. DO whatever you're comfortable with.

Lol. :dito:
If a bloke asked me for my e-mail address, I'd laugh at him! And I'm a bit of a geek myself  :p:

i think it depends on the person...
emails = easier to have convo with
txts are just annoying IMO but you can always ring...
id ask for number normally..
one girl i asked for her email and she said she doesnt use it, was like oh >_<, and instead she gave me her number

give them yours.

Never just give them yours. Simply say bye and leave.

If you're an average TSR girl, attractive in her own way, happy and intelligent, and a guy approaches you, has a nice little confident chat, then says bye and leaves, it'd make you feel a little excited.

For a guy to approach, talk to, and leave a girl without demonstrating any hidden agenda, especially in a bar setting is very powerful. Try it.

Just don't stalk her afterwards.

Lol aww I can't imagine you being a geek ! :p: You're too !!

A guy asked me for my e-mail address when I went out on the very frightening 'scene' in Manchester, I was like "errrm, bu-bye!". Urrghh, exchanging phone numbers after a good no-names-exchanged shag is always the best way

Lol. I'm not a geek really
I do spend too long on here though  Especially now it's exam time!

You exchange numbers with them after you have random-stranger sex? Hmm. It's an idea!

if someone asked me for ma email address id definately think he was really geeky..
its okay to ask for a number but then it depends on the situation, if it seems frendly enuf then jus go for it
Sometimes they might not even have an e-mail address :s: but yeah I see your point people do exchange e-mail addys more often than phone numbers (at least where I am)

I too spend way too long on here, but thats because I'm being held prisoner (well, not quite) in the house to do revision. If mum goes out she gets the gardener to check I don't go out!! I mean, wtf is going on there?!?!!

Yeah I like to exchange numbers once I know if they're actually any good or not. I'm being serious too, when will I learn

I'd say ask for number and then email address via text or something?

That's not what I'd do. TSR regulars Lauren18, Bricktops, Lozza and Dreama will certainly back me on what I'd say and the tone when I let them know. I would re-frame the "I don't use it (regularly)" resistance into a situation where my "new friend" would give me her email and number.

£100/hr for a 30min consultation at the pleasure of Lauren18 and myself. Terms and Conditions apply. PM Lauren18 for details. Your gnome is at risk if you do not keep up repayments on your rubbish.

While you're at it, an ICQ number request wouldn't go down too badly would it now?

My ex asked me for my ICQ number... and he memorised it and repeated it to me the next day. Weird. He never spoke to me on it though.
