For your age and height, I suppose a 'healthy' weight would be between 7.5 and 10.5 stone. Ideally, I'd agree with the others at around 9st. It all depends on how you carry it and if you're confident about your own body.

how much is 1 stone in kgs? any idea?

that's an impossible question to answer because it depends on your shape...I'm only 5'3" and I weigh about 9 stone, but I'm naturally curvy so I'm in no way obese! I also do a fair amount of exercise, and muscle weighs more than fat. however, a person who is my height but with a small frame should weigh less. Does that make sense or have I explained it in a really stupid way???

A good way of checking an ideal weight is to find your Body Mass Index (BMI)...I think it should be between 19 and 25. I forget how you calculate it but there are BMI calculators online so you can look it up. i think mine's 22 or something.

I'm 5"6 and 7 stone - according to a health book im underweight but i don't think you can judge it because everyone has a different metabolism really.

hmm calculate your height in meters..1.68cm...then your weight should be 10 units below the 68 cm bit which is 58kg's...i duno if its same for women... I know this from when I was um.. little I had a euro 96 sticker book and all the footballers were 10 units below their heights and I just assumed that was the ideal height to weight distribution... and I alwyas wondered can bones be heavier and cause someine to weigh more.. oo look I have heavy bones.. woooaahh cooll..

Fair enough. but surely if you were tracking your progress, you'd only use your weight, unless you were still growing??? I guess there isn't really an ideal weight for anyone......

1 stone = 14 pounds = about 6 kg

Don't think there's an 'ideal' weight for anyone. As long as you are healthy and you are happy with your body, it's fine.

Ok let's get mathsy here
Ideal BMI is between 20 and 25 - so let's say 22.5
5'6 = 66*2.54cm = 167.6cm = 1.68m
If 22.5 = X / (1.68)*(1.68)
Then x, your ideal weight in kg = 63.2kg
That's 139lb which is ever so slightly under 10 stone
8 stone...not a pound more, not a pound less
I'm 5 ft 6inches, and I'm 8 and 1/2 stones. Which I think is about right. I think we're supposed to be between 8-9and1/2 stones.
iv jus turned 16. male
am jus short of 5'8 and am 8.5 stones which is about .5 stones off the average which is 9 stones
so i think 5'6 for a guy or a girl shud weigh bout 8

it depends on your build and muscle:fat proportion. I'm 5'8" and 10st, i'm a size ten, but i exercise alot and muscle weighs more than fat... i think!!

no, girls weigh more than guys of the same height usually. 8 stone sounds real light for that height.
