# transformations watch

1. any one got any tips on how to do these???
i know theyre easy but i get confused easily!!
2. say the graph is f(x)

f(x+a) translation vector (-a,0)
f(x) + a translation vector (0,a)

kf(x) stretch factor K parallel to y-axis
f(kx) stretch factor 1/k parallel to x-axis

Basically if K hits inside the bracket it affects the x and if its outside the bracket it hits the y

This what you were after?
3. say f(x) is the original line,
f(x+a) shifts the line a units in the negative x direction (to the left)
f(x-a) shifts the line a units in the positive x direction (to the right)
f(x)+a shifts the line a units in the positive y direction (up)
f(x)-a shifts the line a units in the positive y direction (down)
af(x) stretches the line by a factor of a vertically. (squash if a is less than one)
f(ax) squashes the line by a factor of a horizontally (stretch if a is less than one)
-f(x) reflection in x axis
f(-x) reflection in y axis.

i think thats all of them.
