same same. Keep me posted if you find any XD
I did a week's work experience at the Royal Bank of Scotland at one of their head offices in London. I was working in the equity trading department and the plan was to get an understanding of the environment and market, as well as what they do. But it wasn't the most realistic impression as it was during the week of American Independance so apparently the markets were really inactive. So basically me and almost everyone on the trading floor was watching the Wibledon tennis on the screens that are meant for important news updates lol.

I don't even know why I did it, I'm not even interested in banking. But yeah anyway, you asked so thought this might help. Oh and I got the placement through my school as the head of trading had two daughters in my school.

My school runs a work experience programme at the end of year 11 and the places on offer are offered by parents and friends to the school. The person I reported to obviously offered the place so I just signed up and got it.

I need to get a work experience placement for the end of y11 in a bank.

i think its really about contacts when you're trying to get work experience. I spent a week at a fund management company at the end of year 12. i got the place because my form teacher was friends with a guy who worked there. i'm now in uni and am struggling to find a internship or work experience for this summer. really ask around. my sixth form last minute can canceled work experience too but you should try asking any teachers who are even slightly helpful to you

I spent an internship in a bank. Just paper works and balance sheet thing. Plain simple though.

I did work experience in a bank, but only got in because of contacts through my dad's business. Contacts are really important in this case, but if you don't have any you may as well phone/email and ask if they could offer a placement? What's the worst they're going to do? Say no and forget who you are most likely. Also, apparently high-street banks are easier to get into so maybe try with some of those first.

The work experience itself was really good, I went to all different divisions of the bank and got involved with researching companies for investment. Hopefully I'll get some more for the summer

At accountancy firm: Mostly admin work, VAT, tax returns, payslips. It was just a lot of data entry. e.g. going through lots of invoices and typing up the amount of VAT and allocating the invoices etc. For payslips we used some software which basically did everything, you just had to look up how many hours they worked, what there pay is and enter it in, print it, post it. Also helped out in some bigger tasks such as auditing. which is basically going through a lot of tax history and making sure the numbers add up
