Jack Daniels

So, i recently convinced my mum to buy me a bottle of jack daniels (the smaller bottle, 35cl) and when she handed it to me she said to "not drink it too fast".

So my question to you is, how long would this bottle last you? What would you consider drinking it too fast? As it is I've had the bottle for a few days and havent opened it. I will probably end up having about one or two glasses at the weekends only. But whats your opinion?

Not a fan of whiskey. But i can get through 3/4 of a 70cl bottle of 37.5% vodka and barely be able to stand.

Depends on if you like to get drunk or drink casually.

You seem to want to drink Jack Daniels purely based on the branding. Drink what you enjoy not what someone else tells you to enjoy. Also if you are an inexperienced drinker spirits can get messy.

She probably just doesn't want you downing in before a night out...

I was thinking more of how long in terms of, how long do you have the bottle before you need another one? Do you have a glass every day, one a week ect.
So overall does the bottle last a week, a month, two months or whatever :smile:

Yeh i dont want to finish the bottle in say three or four weeks and have her start shouting at me and never buy me another one lol. So i was just trying to find out how long most people think the bottle should last :biggrin:

I don't really drink alcohol for fun, i don't really like the taste and so only drink it when I plan on getting drunk.

This is usually about once a week. And if i had that size bottle it would be gone in the night i did drink. But it depends again as i said on your intentions and what you can handle.

A 75cl bottle of ~40% will do me good for a night with nothing else. If I'm having a few beers too, I usually have 1/3-1/2 a bottle. Most of the time I use spirits from my hipflask, so I'll use everything in my hipflask on a night out, so a 75cl bottle will last me 6-7 nights out.

It depends really, also you have to take into account that I'm rather large and a moderately heavy drinker, if you've never drunk before and you weigh 6st I reckon you could get wrecked on 3rd of a bottle.

It depends how you drink. How often? How much do you drink at a time? Singles or doubles? It's not the same for everyone.

A bottle that big can last me anywhere between a few hours and a week. Just drink it reeeally cold and don't worry about it so much :smile:

Not at all. I do like it. Im sure there is stuff out there that i would enjoy more, but im a bit young to go into the shop and buy several differnt brands of whisky to try out. If the opportunity arrises to try something else and i find i prefer that, then ill drink that instead :smile:

Its easy to get through a bottle a night, specially if you mix it with coke.

Just have a drink when you want one, rather than making it a chore having exactly 7 glasses a week.

I think what your mum means is, you're 15, don't go downing the whole bottle in a night.

For me I get through a 35cl before I go out, but I drink more than average, so maybe half of your bottle before you go out? For a night in I normally do a 70cl, but again I drink more than the average person. As with everything though practice makes perfect!

Also try Jim Beam. Tastes similar enough for students (mixed with coke anyway) and is cheaper.

Edit - Didnt realise you were 15, a 35cl should be enough for a good night in for you!

I think drinking that much at the weekend would make it last 2/3 maybe even 4 weeks if you like it weaker. It really depends how strong you like your drink. 35cl contains 14 single measures so 7 double measures :smile:

Well, then it depends how much you put in a glass...

35cl / 25ml shot = 14 drinks
35cl / 50ml generous splash = 7 drinks

Uhh well i dont know because i dont measure it out...I know how much i like but not sure what that is in shots.

If i use a pint glass, its about 1/5 or 1/6 JD and the rest coke.
