A few ladies on my access course have got places for september but apparently it is very hard to get into and you normally have to wait a year to get a place, well around london anyway. Hertfordshire, luton, oxford brookes, city uni and bucks and chiltern all run courses. HTH

I know a few people, but places are pretty scarce. My tip would be to prove in your statement that you understand the role of the midwife fully. If you have any experience that's always useful, and indicate that you ahev read soem midwifery journals and texts etc. They love all that!

I guess you could also speak to some mums and their experiences of their midwife. These sorts of things will put you a cut above the rest when they consider your application.

My friend's gonna start Midwifery this Sep at Nottingham She's going for the Diploma though cus that way, NHS pays for the whole thing and she would only need an extra year to make it into a degree - which means she'll come out with no debt! She got an unconditional as well!

Yeh apparently it's pretty hard to get into, but anyway my friend had a few interviews and a few offers I think, including the uncon from Nottingham. She applied to 9 places I think - cus she had applied to some Diplomas - they weren't all through UCAS. But going for Diploma actually sounds better as I've already mentioned - you only do an extra year to make it into a degree and you're free of all debt!
