Your target Uni would be able to help compare qualifications, you could also contact this organisation:

check out the British Council's website in Portugal.

Also email the university you're interested in - most of them will be able to tell you what Portuguese qualifications you need.
hey there.

well, strictly speaking, you cant take the supposed equivalence even if you spot any site mentioning so. I'm going through an application process and everything is dealt with your original grades. You can still use AS GUIDANCE some equivalences. i dont know much more than 18,19,20=A as its the only one i need to care about
Nevertheless, a rough approximation would be likely to be as follows:
18 19 20 - A
17 16 - B
15 14 - C
10-12 - D, E
so if I had studied till 9 year (3rd cycle) that means a level or gcse?

Neither. That's nothing. You can't enter Uni with 9th grade in Portugal, UK or anywhere.CGSE is 11th grade. There is no A level in Portugal. 12th Year Secondary is equivalent to Level 3 in the UK or a BTEC.

Hiya

You would need to complete years 10-12 (upper secondary) to be equivalent to A-Level.
Once you have reached the level of Diploma Nível Secundário de Educação or Certificado Nível Secundário de Educação then that is equivalent to A Level and usually that is what is required to start to study for a degree.

There is a table on the University of Bradford's Portugal page which equates the Portuguese secondary education qualification into the UCAS Tariff system (which is used by UK Universities to explain entry requirements).

I hope that helps :u:

Heya! I'm portuguese and starting uni in london next week so I guess we're kind of the opposite of each other  Anyway, I think the best course of action would be to either email or phone one of the unis you might have in mind and ask about your specific situation because it might differ from course to course or person to person. But if the uni asks for a biology exam and a chemistry one and you did bio and chem a-levels I'm pretty sure you should be fine? 11ano exams are just regular exams we take once we finish a class because some classes are two-year instead of three so it's pretty much the same thing.

If you have more questions I'd be happy to help!

Hey! I'm from Portugal and applying for uni in London as well, do you have any idea if we supposed to put our final grades for each subject or if we should only put our exams in the application?

hi! I'm from Portugal and I need some information, I've finished the 11 year in Portugal and I just have one more year (in Portugal) to go to the university, and I would like to know if there is any way to for me to finish that year in the U.K because now I am doing a level 2 course in IT in the U.K and the course is kinda slow and I still need to do the level 3 that would take 2 more years before I go to the university.

hi, the 11 and 12 grade are the A levels that are equivalent to a level 3 course in college, and in my opinion, i think you should do one of these, for you to be able to enter in the university
