calculating y=arccosech x using a calculator?

i don't know why but i can't seem 2 find the value of

y equals arccosech x

using my calculator when x equals 2 divided by root 3?

what buttons r u meant to press????i just get math error wen i do it.

any help wud b great

Dake

btw the answers pi divided By 3...

Your calculator almost certainly won't have an arcosechx button.
y=arcosechx
cosechy=x
sinhy=(1/x)
y=arsinh(1/x)
So you need the value arsinh(rt3/2)
Thinking about it, I think you must mean trigonomtric instead of hyperbolic, if your answer is going to be pi/3.

As the answer is pi/3 I suppose we're looking for the arccosec (rather than the arcosech).

The steps would then be:
y=arccosecx
cosecy=x
siny=(1/x)
y=arcsin(1/x)
y=arcsin(1/2/rt3) = arcsin(rt3/2)
y=pi/3
