Edexcel Unit 4 Jan 2003 Question

This question is from Edexcel Unit 4 Jan 2003.

With reference to the differences between nervous and hormonal coordination suggest why the development of follicles is coordinated by hormones and not by the nervous system???????????

Does anyone know the answer to it coz im confused abit.

follicle growth and development is a long process.
the nervous system is capable of delivering short lived impulses to a target cell/area
hormones can be secreted into the blood and have a long term effect on the target area.
more efficient to release and maintain a concentration of hormones than to send a series of impulses to the follicle.

i think.

Another question on that paper is

In an investigation inot the effect of a drug on the nervous system, the reaction time of four volunteers was tested by timing how long it took for thm to push a button after seeing a lamp light up.
Vulunteer A drank 50cm3 of water and volunteers B, C and D each drank 50cm2 of a soultion containing different concentation of the drug. the reaction of each volunteer was then tested every ten min during the next hour.

Question:
Give 3 factors, other than the concentration of the drug, that would need top be taken into account in this investigation??????
