what are people's ideas on the hardest board for maths?
i'm doing OCR and that seems to be easier than Edexcel though the A* mark was really low for ocr last year. what was the A* mark for Edexcel last year, does anyone know?

AQA, this year I think. Don't forget it's about the difficulty of the paper and the grade boundry. It's no good saying such and such was easier because it had a lower grade boundry because the paper might have been impossible.

    lol yup no probs

(and to the person who started the thread, its like this. QCA make sure an A* on one board's paper (or an A,B,C etc.) is an A* in another board's paper. So, that way, they are all as hard as each other. Consequently the one with lowest boundary, has the hardest questions. And that is EdExcel.)

Everybody has been complaining about the AQA this year though. Of course they have no idea about the edexcel...

They should all be the same level of difficulty or the systems corrupt. AQA was unbelivable, everyone was under unbelivable amounts of stress, it was dire, it was 50 times harder than any of the past papers. But the grade boundries will be lowered so that it is equally as hard to get whatever grade no matter which paper you sit.

I thought that this year the Higher Edexcel Maths wasn't too bad...although after saying that tomorrow's calculator paper will probably be doubly hard (touch wood)

I think edexel is supposed to be the hardest, in my school different sets take different exam boards, the higher sets take edexcel and the lower sets take ocr modular - however saying this an A* is still an A*.

No. Last year on EdExcel 45% was an A, and 61% was an A*. I think 30% was a B.
