    What is the definition of Codominance (for 3 marks)...sftee

    I hate these stupid defition questions... i had what's a 'plamsid'

    They found you got a mark for really dumb things in the mark scheme

    e.g.
    * small
    * round
    (both marking points!)

    Codominance is when the phenotpes of both alleles are equally express in the heterozygous state

    For example, with ABO blood types IAIB result in AB blood type as both phenotypes are expressed.

    Can't think of much else though...

    Codominant describes any two alleles that are both expresses in the phenotype of a heterzygous organism. E.g.

    The gene C for coat colour in cattle has two dominant alleles, Cr (Red hair) and Cw (White hair). A heterozygous individual CrCw will have a mixture of red and white hairs, giving an overall colour kown as roan.
