Birth Marks

I guess this thread has already been made, so sorry, but I couldn't be arsed to go hunting.

Anyway, I was wondering who had large/dark/etc birthmarks and whether it effected/effects their confidence. I have an enormous one on my left leg, which to be honest I'm extremely self-consious of, whilst at the same time I don't care (if that makes any sense). I just tend to always wear long trousers etc. because it's easier as people, including friends stare, even if it's accidental. I thought about removal but because it's so big and dark, it would take about 4 years in 4 painful annual operations. Also, I don't think I could forgive myself if I had it removed as, it's kind of like, an identification thing.

Just wondering if anyone else had any bitches of birthmarks and how they viewed them.

I have a birthmark thats like the shape of Tasmania on my left bicept, hang on ill measure it ... its about 1imch by 2 inches. All it looks like is that ive got a bit of skin more tanned than the rest of my arm, you cant notice it in summer. It doesnt bother me. Though if i got a tattoo id get one over it.

I have a large birth mark on the right side of my body. It used to be really dark, but it's getting lighter now. It doesn't really bother me, it just means that I can't wear a bikini (or anything too revealing) which I don't anyway.
i've got quite a big one on my stomach... solution: i don't wear short tops!

Erm.. sorry but can anyone tell me the difference between a birthmark and a beauty mark?
I have one on my stomach and it makes me so self-conscious. It totally effects my confidence when wearing a bikini but I just try to forget its there. I just keep imagining that people are staring at it, when to be honest it's pretty small so I don't see why they would!

I really want to get it removed. I know it'll leave a scar but I'd rather that than a birth mark :frown:

Beauty marks or beauty spots are often knows as moles. You can have them anywhere really, face (particularly on the cheek or mouth area), arms, stomach, back and are black or brown (due to a concentration of pigment)...Birthmarks tend to be larger and cause more of a blemish and cover a larger area than a beautymark. They are generally the same thing.

i had 2 birthmarks.

one on my arm miracally faded away after about 13 years,
the other one is under my patch of hair.
I've got one on my face it use to be really red and huge when i was younger but now its small and people think its a scar. I used to really hate is especially as its on my face and you cant really cover it up unless you put tons of make up over it but when people mention it i think about it. I wanted to get it removed but if it looked worst then i would feel worst? Anyone else got one on their face?

I have a tiny little faint one on my thigh and a faint reddish one on the back of my neck but it doesnt really show up.

My cousin has a large one on the side of her face but shes only 10 so it doesnt bother her at the moment.

A friend of mine had really obvious, big ones all over the tops of her thighs. It took 4 operations to get them all removed
i have one.
its a black line throught the brown bit of my left eye... looks kinda weird but people only noticed it if they stare lmao

I have a birth mark on my face- i think they call it a "cafe au lait" birth birk, so as the name suggests if you speak french its light brown. Cant be removed, or so my doctor has told me, I've used some creams in the past prescribed by my doctor to try to lighten it but if i'm honest i didnt have the will power to put it on every night as it was quite tedious, making sure it only went on the birth mark and not the surrounding skin.

I used to feel quite self conscious about it, and go through phases of wishing it wasn't there. However as my friends tell me (and they're not just being nice) they dont notice it any more. Also as i've gotten older and my facial hair has gotten thicker if i dont shave it becomes less obvious.
