Well dentists are not doctors so they are Mr, Miss or Mrs.
Mine is a Mr.

As a general rule they are Mr/Mrs/Miss/Ms, I've never had a Dr dentist (if that makes sense :s-smilie:)

Yeah all the dentists I know are Dr.
Reply 7
Well the boards outside the General Practices usually state Dr.

When dental students graduate they have to register their name on the GDC list of practiciionerssss. This is what allows them to practice. They are given the option to register their title as Dr or Mr/Miss.

A dentist is effectively a surgeon and hence a DR.....however like every surgeon they can choose to use Mr or Dr therefore u see a mixture

My dentist is a doctor but is called Mr. He trained to be a doctor, didn't like it so re-trained as a dentist.

Dr = Doctorate.

MD = Doctor of Medicine.
Its Dr. Not Mr.

Dr = Doctorate.

MD = Doctor of Medicine.

In this country MD is a postgraduate qualification you can take after your medical degree.

MBBS/BMBS/BM/BM ChB etc is a Doctor of Medicine, despite the qualification being a Bachelors.

My dentist uses Dr, though I don't think all of them do.
They can use either. Some dentists like to use the Dr title and others consider themselves 'dental surgeons' and stick to the convention of surgeons calling themselves Mr
