Has anyone ever managed to keep a pet in their room without being caught? I'm not talking about a dog or anything, I was wanting to get a pet Tarantula. They're quiet, rather inactive and they require hardly any attention or cleaning.

Surely when room inspections are due I can just hide it for a while until they've gone? What do people think?

I'm sure that it's possible in certain cases - are you thinking of any university in particular?

Haha! I know, most people would agree. I just love spiders, I think people are mad for being scared of them! They're awesome

Don't be an idiot. You don't need a pet in your room, least of all a tarantula. If you want a pet, move into your own flat.

I had a pet human in my room. I kept it in a cage and fed it with trout heads.

Eventually, it died.

Oh dear, just please make sure it doesn't escape or anything, won't you? I now have visions of a screaming cleaner who has a little nosy in your cupboard! I don't see why you wouldn't get away with it, but (no offence) I can't see why you would want a tarantula anyway.

You have to think about the other people that live around you. It really isn't fair on them on get a tarantula. If someone is scared of spiders it is totally inconsiderate to get something like that. If I found out someone had one in my block there is no way in hell you would get me anywhere near that block until it had been removed. And I imagine there's many other students that would feel the same.
