    Why are radio waves with longer wavelenth better used for transmitting radio signels in mountanious areas than those with shorter wavelenths?

    sin theta = (0.61 lamda)/distance size

    larger wavelength, larger diffraction angle (theta)

    the large wavelength means its can be diffracted more esp around mountains since the gaps between the mountains needs to be comparable to the wavelegth for effective diffraction to occur
