Hey everyone! My problem is whenever I drink alcohol I get bad stomach type cramps! It has happened all the few times I have drunk alcohol. The severity of the cramps depends on how much alcohol I have drunk. When at my schools summer leavers ball, I drunk quite a bit (Not enough to be drunk just tipsy) and the cramps lasted for a few hours! Then one time I had a few mouthfuls of WKD and I had mild cramps that last about 10 mins! I have no idea what is up! Can anyone help me?!? Thanks

My Advice is stop drinking alcohol, go to your doctor/a hospital and get it checked out. They may be able to fix the problem and you can carry on getting tipsy without that pain, or you may have to never drink alcohol again, which isn't the end of the world now is it :p:

Have you eaten prior to consuming alcohol and within what time period if so?

Hmm, I'm no medic but that could be serious so get yourself down to the doc's asap I'd say. I'm sure they'll have a good explanation.

Yes, the times it has happened I've always eaten a few hours or less before.

I had that for a while, even one drink and I'd nearly be sick and feel really ill regardless of what drink it was. However after about a month it stopped :s:

Dont mix sugary drinks with spirits/pints. Youll get very sick.

Ditto, sounds odd but bread before or after is quite good lalala
But you should get it checked out if it is causing you pain Perhaps try not to mix certain drinks or try to steer clear of some and see which one affects you most, so you know as to avoid it.

Sounds like stomach spiders. Their eggs are nourished by alcohol, so the cramps would be the pain caused by the eggs growing a little every time you drink. I'm sorry, there's nothing that can be done, you'll just have to keep drinking until they hatch and come crawling out.

I get stomach cramps when I drink too much of a certain mixer so I always have to switch between lemonade, coke and orange juice to stop me getting them. I think it might be the results of too much sugar/acid but I'm not a scientist so Im not sure.
Does it only happen when you drink a certain drink?

Nope, just when I drink in general. It is very weird, but it’s a good job that I don't drink much. On the odd occasions it has happened it has been on events such as my schools summer leaving ball and my 18 birthday. I don't drink any other time. But I shall go to the doctor, just to be on the safe side!

Sounds like you're allergic to alcohol. Got a friend who's allergic to alcohol and she gets severe reactions from it.
