# ocr core 3 watch

1. Did anyone do OCR core 3 today??!!!

Was just wondering if anyone managed to do the very last part of 9 where you had to find m and how did you do it?! (its realy annoying me lol)
2. The C3 paper was mega today!!!

So simple! Definately the easiest exam I've had so far! In fact the only question I couldn't do was that last part of 9. Apparently you had to put f(x)=f-1(x) and then complete the square or something. But hey who cares really when the rest of the paper was SO good!

(now I've said that I probs wont even pass!!)

Did you do M1 aswell??? It was the hardest paper ever!!
3. Hi, I did c3 today as well, and thought it was an excellent paper, but I couldn't do the last part of 9 either.

I also did m1, which was dire. All of the numbers I ended up with were completely out of the ordinary for things like acceleration!
4. the c3 paper was good apart from the last part of q9. gave a random answer
m1 was easy, finished in 50 mins and sat there looking around.
5. How did you find m1 easy??? Are you some kind of child prodigy??? The questions were so odd, I'd never done a paper like it before.
6. dunno, im just good at mechanics. i do further maths tho
7. So do I and I hated it! I'm not looking forward to 18th August now...

Doing C4 on monday?
8. c3 was ok ish.... ive still f***ed it up though.... as for M1, God help me... what sort of nutter set that paper?

yep... gonna be harder than c3. and then m2 on wednesday and im finished
10. Tee Hee Hee I'm finished on Mon

Good luck with the C4.

(It'll probably be solid due to the simple C3 paper!)
11. lucky you
gl to u as well
12. yeh did last part of 9....wasnt dififult at all

the paper was unbelievably easy.....they are going to have to sclae the marks down lol.

im in u6.....and we did p1 and p2 last year.....so when we swtiched over we really notied how easy c's are. c3 = p2
13. I wouldn't say unbelievably easy =oS I hope they do not scale the marks down too much :-(

Im kind of the same as you lol. but i only did pure 1 last year as well as M1 and S1.

How did you do the last part of question 9??
14. How did you do the last part of question 9??
You want the range of values of m where f(x) does *not* cross y=x. So equate f(x) with x. Rearrange it a bit until you get a quadratic in x. Now, since you want the equation to not have any [real] roots, take "b^2 - 4ac < 0" of the quadratic. That gives you an inequality in 'm', that you solve to find the range of values.

Now just C4 and M2 to go, and I'm done. Until next year, at least.
15. tbh it was harder than i expected given how easy the material content of c3
last part to q9... 2<m<14 or somewhere there about?
