Diet?

I've been suffering from loose stools for months now. what is up with that. I went to see the doc and she said that it was probably just stress. I had a blood test done and it came back normal.

I'm wondering if it's anything to do with what I'm eating/drinking. I like to think I eat pretty healthily, but of course what I eat has gone a bit down hill since coming to uni..What kind of things keep your stools solid? Thanks guys.

fibre?

Don't you get constipation if you're not eating enough fibre?..
Just eat a balanced diet. Fatty food and spicy foods can be a prob for some people. Fibre is important for general bowel health not just constipation.

Fibre with lots of water. Bananas are supposed to help. Pasta? There's a few things like this but I don't know how much of it is Old Wive's Tales!
eat plenty of fruit as well and starchy stuff.

Don't change your eating habits abruptly. Go gradual. And get lots of fibre and roughage. Eat dry bran/corn/specialk -flakes instead of crisps.

I've always been told thaty foods that give constipation (and therefore more solid stools..) are foods like: white bread, pasta, white rice, matza.

Fibre gives more regular stools, and is what is recommended when you have constipation.

Hope that helps xx
