I'm a final year accounting student, getting pretty fed up in my part time job, and without much work experience, so I would love to get some people to come to me privately and I could do their accounts for them. Nothing too arduous, just your run of the mill shoebox accounting.

The question is how would you advertise this, and how much to charge, etc?

You could put up a card in shop windows? I know some people who do this asking for decorating work etc and do quite well.

Not really sure about how much to charge.

Realistically, would anyone bother hiring a non qualified accountant who hasn't finished his degree yet?

This is what I thought, but my lecturer suggested this as apparently a quite viable alternative to part time jobs. Just the small stuff that people could legally do themselves if they knew how, like farmers and stuff.

Yeah, i'd just do as someone above has suggested, put a little card up in the local shop, advertise in the local paper. It's worth a try
