NO! Horses are like the devil! I went to teen ranch in 2nd yr and we all got "given" a horse for the weekend and mine was this psycho called Basil and it was a big black thing and when i was on the back of it (!!!) it reared up and ran off into the woods! OMG Scariest moment EVER!

We bought a horse 3 months ago who is a wild beastie and is currently in need of serious taming measures. He's 15.3, Irish Draught X, Dappled grey called Matador. Or grumpy bugger, depending. I'm hoping to compete in some SJ and WH this season.

I'm learning & loving every minute of it. Wish I'd done it earlier in life.

Yes, why would I make it up? I used to have three, but had to sell two due to exams, so I just kept the best one (survival of the fittest lol.) Ive had him for 6 years now, and managed to qualify for RIHS last year in WHP, which was nice seeing that I produced him.

What's he like? I've wanted a horse for ages but we've only been able to afford one recently and my instructor had found this horse which she said was pefect for me and kept trying to persuade me to buy! (He's kinda brill so I don't mind) What are you going to do next year when you're off at Uni? Matt's on working livery, so the yard will keep him fit while I'm away and then I'll sort him out in the holidays.

Hes called Desmond (sad I know- it wasn't my choice) its 10 this year, and 150cm. Very honest and reliable, good jumper, never stops and a fast leaner. I don't know what I'm going to do with him next year, hes on DIY livery so no one to exercise him. I'm going to join the Cambridge riding society, have you looked at their web page? They won the world championships and BUSA.

I've had a look and it looks like a good idea, the lessons are a bit more expensive than around here but no where near what my sister pays. Dad's decided I should join so I probably will. I didn't name Matt eaither, our vet laughs every time he sees him (He's irish and always mutters "It's an odd name for a horse") He's just turned 9 and he's completely unreliable on the ground and likes kicking people when he has the chance. He chased my sister round the stable this weekend! It's kind of understandable though - when some people stole all the tack form his old yard, they went into his stable and sliced his neck open with a knife, which has made him really defensive in a stable. He's great to ride though, and he's getting a lot better so it might be OK.

Why shouldn't they?!

I ride but don't have a horse, I'd love one though, maybe when I win the lottery!! In the mean time I'll have to make do with my weekly lesson at the local stables!!

He's very bonkers. But I don't mind cos I love him, even if he's a grumpy little wotsit sometimes. Horsey people do sometimes become a bit horse orientated, I suppose it takes up a large chunk of your time and money so you talk about it a lot. My boyfriend is probably a tiny bit fed up of hearing about 'this cute thing that Matt did' or 'Matt was bad today' or 'I can't go to the cinema tonight, I'm going riding'. But he doesn't seem to mind too much. Have you ever actually ridden a horse? It's fun. You might like it.
