Your geography is apparently exceptional, Burton is the nearest town and is about 3 miles or so away!! I hate Burton. It smells really bad. It's rated as one of the worst places to live in the whole country. Yay.

I love the weekend too - it means more time spent dodging flying hooves! I go down to the yard 3 or 4 times a week in termt ime, and try to go every day in the holidays. Matt needs as much work as possible becuase he really enoys it and he's less likely to try and amuse himself by damaging you if he's tired But I remember what it was like only having one lesson a week - it's really annoying when you want to be riding all the time. But it's better than not riding at all I spose. I once met some kids who could only afford to ave a lesson once a month but they loved it so much they did that and made the best of it. Poor them!

Actually I can't go up this holiday, which is really annoying. Just before we bought Matt my parents booked us a week's skiing. But I can't ski! I can ride a horse already...
Lol, I hadn't realised I was so good at geography, I just know I live in Leics near Derby and Burton!!

The hardest thing about only riding once a week is the fact that I used to 3 or 4 times a week and every day in the holidays when I was younger (I used to exercise my instructors horses) Unfortunately I had to grow up and get a job, which kinda gets in the way of it all!!

Yeah, I went through that a few years ago - one summer I rode every day in the evening and competed most weekends on two ponies I was schooling for a friend of a friend. It was absolute bliss!! Basically I was the only one who rode Copper (who was young and nervous) and Rocky (who bucked all the time) and I also rode a pony called james who belonged to this woman's son but he wasn't interested in riding. And then one day, they sold them all without telling me. I rode there for a bit afterwards but there wasn't anything really to ride and I went back to having a lesson a week at my riding school
My aprents have been trying to get me to get a job for a while, but they've finally conceded that I need to conentrate on getting my grades and schololing Matt into a semblance of good behavour!

That was why I had to stop in the first place, I was sent out to work to pay for my lessons, but then I was working on all my riding days!! I started to realise my'friends' weren't that great either!!

Young girls shouldn't be allowed ponies if they don't know what to do with them!! Rode one of the working liveries in my lesson yesterday, such a sweet pony with a fantastic jump but no flat work to back it up. He's only 4 and really clever but all she ever does with him is wander around while she's yalking to her friends and occassionally put him over a couple of fences. So frustrating!! (it was an interesting ride though, especially when I realised he was a little 'fresh' and couldn't actually stop, I'm aching all over today!!)

If you feel like that then you probably should, take it up again in a few years if you feel any differently. Its not really fair on your horse if your not really interested

Try cutting and pasting them, into a reply box. In ot go to the picture and see its name or number that it is saved under. Then on the reply box click the yellow box with a mountain on it at the top (says insert image when you put your mouse your it) then type in the name and it should insert.

http://images7.fotki.com/v149/free/0...jpg?1108463804 and this is my baby boy. He is jumping 1.20 at shows and is very uncomfortable to sit on and doesn't like new people to sit on him that's why every new person rides him, he tries to get rid of him by kicking the air and other tricks But he loves me so much and generally is a good boy

I feel like that sometimes. Nearly all of my friends at the yard have left in the past two years and there's no one eally for me to talk to. At about the same time that they started going, we had a complete change of yard staff and I'm only really getting to know and like them now! (Having my own horse has completely changed their attitude to me, especially becuase they think he's brill. ) I'm gtting back into it now, but this time last year. I just wanted to give up cos I was going noweher. I know how you feel (I think)

With arabian I don't do much. with Pikerau we do jumping and dressage, but he prefers jumping
I used to feel sick of going to the farm last year... There were people who I didn't like and every day everything in the farm was the same and we didn't have a poin in our work. I used to ride but I didn't know what for... Moreover we couldn't go for hacking I changed a farm and things are very good now this might be a solution for feeling sick of going to see your horses
