the players in the bdo world championship look crap compared to the pdc players
I do believe that the averages in the BDO are infact higher than in the PDC

how far does your thing fly when you hit it hard?
hard to say, i never went distance testing. however, from the back of my court i've hit the opposite wall (6 feet behind?) at over head height just angling my shot wrong...

hmmm... my method allows it to fly more than the length of two courts including a gap of ~3m. and even then still not at maximum power.

Alot of the bdo players would struggle in the pdc, I'm pretty sure Whitlock was in the PDC but got slaughtered and went to the BDO and ended up in the semi finals of the world championship.

Same could be said for some PDC players. Players like Painter, Scholten and Mason all had little success in the BDO but have done well in the PDC.

I've missed most of the coverage, but I make an effort to watch it every January. Good stuff.

Pity there is the divide with 2 different championships at all really.

i've always found using a feather shuttle and folding them/twisting them into the middle works the best. got it the length of our halls, 5 badminton court's width plus the bits in between!

but you can do some serious damage even with a normal one. i've seen someone hit in the eye. they were ok though because they were wearing contact lenses so the lense wasnt scratched

whats the worst injury you've seen/heard about at/from badminton?? i've heard of a dude who jumped up, twisted wrongly and as he jumped partly pulled his knee out of place. landed on it and fractured his leg in 4 places......no nice at all!

i seriously struggle to believe that is true.

do you mean across the width of two courts?
in which case, yeah ok fine.

Bit of a pointless discussion though isn't it? You might be able to hit a shuttlecock further than a world class badminton player, but it won't reflect your ability at the sport at all.

I cut my arm open with the racket just below my right elbow somehow, I've never seen anyone else remotely hurt while playing badminton! Though I'm sure people must have broken a leg or something because it can be quite high impact.

anyone watching the darts at the moment? it's pretty cool, i like the whole atmosphere of people sitting round, having a meal and a drink, while some guys stand at the front and play.
I major question here does this really belong in a SPORTS thread!?!?

Fat people who drink to much throwing something at a board! its a pub game but NO WAY a sport!

The second best sport in the world (football is first, of course). Real Talk. Any players or supporters here?
Personally I prefer Baseketball! far more entertaining! espicially on free range chicken night!

Snooker and pool are pub games and are considered sports. I'm sure you would consider archery a sport so why not darts? I'd like to see you hit some 180's, just because darts has an image of being a sport for guys with bulging beer bellies doesn't mean it isn't classed as a sport. And don't be giving any of that physical exertion ********.
