School Prom

Im the organiser of my school Prom. Its been a massive task. But im sure it will be worth it on the 7th July.

Anyone had their proms? Any suggestions to me, that make it that 'extra' special? Like those little things, you thought, oh that was good. Etc

Also, what were your prom experiences like?

Had mine a few weeks ago. It was fab dab. Everyone looked amazing!

One reaallly special thing you could do is hire a chocolate fountain like we did!

I had to organise our school prom too! it was a whole lot of work and we werent really helped by the dumb-ass staff at our school (dippy off the wall head of year and old-fogey premises manager whos very much in one ear out the other) but it was all really nice. there was no trouble and it was all koushtie (or however you spell it :s-smilie:

:P) oh well yea, its great fun and i felt really proud when it was over.

Try to put some entertainment such as a jazz band. In addition, ask teachers to make some academic awards along with some funny awards (e.g. the best hair award, the most annoying student award, etc...).

Not had our prom yet but I have a feeling it will be fantastic and probably a lot better than the one last year that I went to...It is being held at such a beautiful location :smile:

Last year there was a string quartet for drinks on arrival and then a jazz band, then a rock band and then the disco..A very nice selection of sweets and lollipops on all the tables (and in my handbag at the end of the night) I think this year copies of the year book shall be there plus the end of year photo we took in the common room. For me it will be great because everyone will be in super posh outfits and the location and the music will be wonderful..

We're already doing awards. And we have a live rock band. The best Youth rock stars in Manchester. And they're from our Yr 11 cohort :biggrin:

Do awards, the obvious ones like best boy, best girl, best couple

add a few fun ones in too, like

-most likley to catch an STD
-most likely to end up in jail
-worst driver
