When looking at a NMR spectrum, and having to work out coupling constants. For a doublet, its just the difference between the two peaks. But i'm not sure about triplet and beyond - is a triplet the difference between the two outer peaks or? And a doublet of a doublet, I have no idea how that is done :p:

Thanks for any help on this!

Yes for a doublet it's the distance between the two peaks, for a triplet it's the distance between the middle and one of the side peaks.

For doublet doublets you have two couplings - one between the first and second peaks then another between the first and third
