    Good evening

So I've written a couple of good paragraphs on my personal statement about my particular interests in english and my coursework etc.

But I'm stuck with how to explain how my other subjects link.

Has anyone got any ideas on how I could say that French, chemistry and maths (AS) link to English literature??

Something perhaps along the lines of the diversity giving me a better perspective of the subject...or is that a bit rubbish? I'm not too sure.

    Thanks.

(sorry if this is posted in the wrong place; I wasn't too sure)

For a start there's no need to run through all your A levels just because you're doing them. The obvious link can be made between two languages with much in common. Other than that, why not just say what you enjoy about Chemistry and/or Maths and how they contrast/develop different skills in you, compared with English?

    yeah,
I think I'll talk about how it links to French, and then just group chemistry and maths together and say, I don't know...something to do with diversity or...a more rational approach?
Because I can't say I enjoy much about these subjects :p:

    thanks for the help.

You could always reflect on the supposedly systematic and rational approach that sciences require - but which goes nowhere without the blinding flash of imagination/inspiration? 'Leaps of faith' are just as necessary for science to progress as they are for the creation of literature and developing language.
