Umm, this isn't a specific problem I'm stuck on, just generally. I'm finding it really tough - it's like a guessing game about what identity to use where. I don't like it at all. Is there any tips to working them out? I can't do them - I don't think I have the mental capacity I can do formulas and stuff - but not this. It's all just guesswork.

I know, I know, C3 and C4 are much much worse for things like this and that I should probably give up now, etc. But I can't.

God, I hate maths so much it's unreal :sigh:

i think its important to learn how the identities are derived and that will help you know which one to use. im just saying cause it actually helped me.

C4 aint bad, C3 is has a lot of horrible trig in it. Let C2 trig be the warm up for C3 trig.
I have the same problem, luckily got through them with 88/100 in C2 and 74/100 in C3, some modules are just meant to be annoying.

did you really need to post this...?

OP: i find it's most useful to try and write everything out in terms of sin and cosine first and then proceed from there. the questions you'll get in the exam will all be simple one liners though.

OK. Just got to keep trying. Just gets so frustrating. I'm panicking so much about maths at the moment (I've got 7 modules in January).
