    Hello,
As someone who is interested in applying to St Hugh's College, I was wondering whether there were any Hugh's students who could answer this question: Do you think that St Hugh's is more isolated from the rest of Oxford because of it's northernly position?
Ok, in fairness it doesn't take a huge amount of time to travel between Hugh's and central Oxford, but it's still further than anywhere else, so does anyone feel that, having lived there, they were more 'removed' from life in the rest of Oxford than they would have been at another college?
    Thanks

I'm going to a course at St Hugh's in the 2 weeks before term begins (if I've met my grades!). It is a bit further out than the other colleges, but that's in Oxford terms - coming from a big city, the other side of town means an hour or two's journey. St Hugh's is like a 20 min walk max from the city centre, and there are main roads and stuff with bus routes.
Everything's relative, I suppose, given that some colleges are next door to each other, and for Oxford it's quite aq distance, but not really...

The current President of OUSU (our student Union) is from St Hugh's.
Next term's Oxford Union Presidnet is from St Hugh's
Also next term, one of the editors of Cherwell (student newspaper) is at St Hugh's; one of the deputy editors of OxStu (the other student newspapeper) is at...St Hugh's.

I don't think you have too much to worry about. Just get a bike
