ive had a look at the specification and could someone explain what it means by "describe the cellular stucture of an islet of langerhans" does it just mean u have to know there are alpha and beta cells?

also what about "the need for communicating systems within mammels to respond to changes in the internal and external environment"

thanks alot

the need for communicating systems is because water potential and solute potential of the blood need to be at a constant level and pH changes and temperature changed need to be kept at a minimum so enzymes can work at their optimum

There's not much else you can say apart from that the Islets are made up of both alpha and beta cells. Both types of cells have extensive rough endoplasmic reticula and contain many vesicles. The alpha cells secrete glucagon and their vesicles are lighter in colour. The beta cells secrete insulin and their vesicles are darker in colour.
