    Just a quick question here, not sure how id do this one...

    Find the qutient and remainder when (x4 + x3 -5x2 -9) is divided by (x2 + x - 6)

    Do you know how to do algebraic long division?

    Yeah, but I can only divide in linear equations, i.e dividing by (x+1), not to sure for a polynomial...

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>x² + 0x - 9
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>x² + x - 6
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> -x -3


    So the answer is x² + 1 + (-x-3)(x² + x - 6)

    The remainder being -x - 3

    Not sure if you want to put that fraction as partial fractions or not.

    Hope this was all clear.
