Why on earth would you do that? Do you want the placement or not? :lolwut:

It won't give you better chances of getting in as it is essentially the same course, I would apply for the one with placement.

I wouldnt, if they rejected you from one application theyd most likely reject you from the other one as well. Thats 2 wasted choices

You'll be wasting a place by applying for the same course twice. You won't be more likely to be accepted than if you only apply once.

You may find that they consider people who apply for the course with a placement (but are unsuccessful) for the course without a placement. I know that this is the case with Leeds; Politics & Parliamentary Studies course.

Why don't you email the admissions tutor and ask if this is the case?

Wasting a choice in my opinion. The person who reads your first application may well be the one who reads your other one too...it's very likely that the result will be the same, if anything you'll have just annoyed the admissions tutor that they've had to spend time going through an application that's already been processed.
Surrey are quite lenient (from experience, friends going there did recieve offers lower than the stated requirements in the prospectus) so you should be fine applying for a ABB course with BBB.

No. If you're not good enough, you'll get two rejections. Waste.

I don't think you can. As placements are conditional as to how you perform in your first year. So if you started the course without the placement and did well in the first year you can still choose to do a placement. If however you start the course with placement and you don't do well then you won't secure a placement anyway (Well that's how it works at my uni). It's not guranteed.

Both courses are exactly the same academically.

Most places that offer a with / without placement give you the chance to switch when you get there anyway so a wasted choice in my opinion.

It is a huge risk considering that you are predicted less than their requirements. Decide which one you'd rather do and just apply there - you would get the same outcome from each one anyway so it would be a waste of an application.
