how to dim a picture which you want to use as webpage background? watch

    i've got images which i've made in paint.
    they're stored on my photobucket account, and in my computer's "pictures" folder.

    i want to add these images as backgrounds to my webpages. but they'd make the text too ahrd to read right now...how would i dim the images a bit?

    You'd need a photo manipulation program, the GIMP would probably be your best bet, since it's freely available. Can be a bit tricky to get used to, but for effects it's fairly decent.
