I seriously want to be a first year again! My god, how you newbies at uni are blissfully unaware of the toil and stress that's in store in your further years in higher education.

I've been reminiscing a lot of my time in halls (Purbeck House, Bournemouth uni, 07/08, a fantastic year for more reasons than uni  ) and it was awesome, and I loved it. Yes, there were times when I hated it and I just wanted to be anywhere else, but now, two years on, heading into a placement and tasting the world of *gulp* WORK, I just want to rewind right back to the day I opened the door of the flat, and wheeled in my over-sized hold-all into the hallway....

So, a message for anyone who's sat there right now, in their room in halls, wondering if they've picked the right course, the right uni, the right halls, or even the right flat.

You have. And treasure it. It's the most unique experince you are ever going to have in your life. You will have so much fun, meet so many new friends, drink so much booze, feel so rough the next day, steal so many random road signs, write so many words in your essays...and never, for one second, wish it away.

Because I did at times, and now I seriously regret it.

Postgrad with halls at UWE, I'm on my way....

I prefer being a second year for so many reasons. Only thing better about first year is that it's a complete doss.

Clearly you're incredibly hot, so why not put up a picture of yourself for us all to judge?

You come across as very unpleasant.

Fully agreed with the OP. I've even decided on applying for a PhD to escape the real world for a little while longer...

It can be **** at times but I think you learn a lot from it. I've had some tough times in first and 2nd year, I'm on my placement year now and I'm currently being driven nuts. But I think by the end of the year I'll have experienced a lot and will be a better person for it.

I hope you don't want to return to first year because you saw American Pie Beta House...

I wish I was still in first year only because I'm almost half-way through my time at uni already

Other than that, I much prefer second year. The experience in halls was great, but I'm really enjoying living wih friends as opposed to strangers. And in regards to my course, I'm actually motivated to do the work and am (finally) learning new things - I didn't enjoy first year course-wise because of the fact everything we were taught was A Level stuff.
