I'm interested in becoming a police officer but wanted to get some experience first. I don't think I'm ready to apply to be one at this current stage in time nor do I think many officiers are recruited at the age of 19/20.

So basically does anyone have any advice about the best way of preparing yourself to become a police officer and more importantly whats the situation regarding work experience?

I am in the same position as you.
You could become a special constable? go to uni and do a police course? or college and doing a public uniform course? go travelling? join the army?
As for work experience, try something working with members of the public? sales? customer service...and such like.
Maybe help out at your local youth group? do things in the commuinty like cake sales or something...
    Hope that helps.
Were you ever put in isolation at school?
