Basically, in as year I took maths, further maths, french and english language. Hated the latter and ended up with AADD respectively.
I'm looking to apply for maths courses and decided to take up Physics this year just to gain an as in it (I've continued Maths, FM and french an believe I can up the french grade via resits, to at least a B).
However recently I've had conflicting opinions as to whether the physics as is worth me doing/going to be beneficiary for my application , im looking to study maths & statstics courses rather than picking mechanics based modules at uni.
Thought and/or experiences?

If you want to do physics because you want to learn it or because you enjoy the subject, then do it. If you just want an extra qualification/extra UCAS points, I'd do the EPQ if your college offers it.
