Exams - too short? watch

If doing 2 A-levels in one academic year and holding down a full time job isn't enough I have started taking time out for mock A-level exams.

Upon completing my English Language mock AS I was asked how I felt about the allocated time. I said that I felt 1 hr for the question was about right but perhaps slightly to little to allow the student a good crack unless they could write at mega fast speed.

My tutor/teacher smiled and informed me that in the real exam I would have 45 minutes to accomplish the same feat.

Am I the only person who thinks that we should be allowed more time to complete some of the tasks?

Anyone else got an example of something similair or also fear getting shafted by running out of time?
