Hey,
I've recently started work in St Albans, to be specific...
Upper Marlborough Rd, St Albans, AL1
Can anyone provide me with a name of a road or post code in which I can park for free which is no more than a 15-20min walk from Upper Marlborough Road or Victoria Street.
I've been parking in the public car park, but £8 a day is starting to hurt! I tried looking for free parking today, but most areas closeby are permit holders or pay and display.
Please Help!

Thanks Sports Racer.
Someone has told me that there is free parking off the road - Sandpit Lane.
I will try looking tomorrow and get back to you...
I've attached the St Albans Council Parking Zones Map... may be of assistance to you guys..
I think it may be a little outdated tho!

I've lived in St Albans all my life, except when I was at uni/travelling. But I don't drive, so I'm not sure about free parking... try back streets, not St Peter's Street, Holywell Hill or those running off them?

The cheapest I know is by the museum down Fishpool, which is 80p/day.

still better than your £8 a day though OP, you should probably look into this, it's a 10-15 minute walk from victoria street

Westminister lodge has 3 car parks with, a 7day pass for 12 quid, or 3 pound all day, bottom of holywell hill approx. 10min walk to your work otherwise north of sandpit u could find space along charmouth or maybe avenue road, all within 10 mins walk.
Hope this helps

Westminster Lodge swimming pool/St Albans Abbey theatre used to be free, you'd have to walk up the hill though.
