i thought there were some tricky questions, the final part of the implicit differentiation question seemed quite difficult but i think i got the answer in the end.. does any1 remember what they got for the value of the parameter on the parametric equation, i think i got t=4...

for the implicit one how did u do the prove no tangents parallel to y axis bit?

tangents parallel to y axis have gradient infinity, so the bottom part of the fraction of dy/dx must equal 0
2xy - 3 = 0
y= 3/(2x)

sub this into the original equation to obtain a quadratic and then show that it has no real roots. took me 20 mins in the exam to work this out :smile:

That exam was SO darn easy. I actually couldn't believe it. It's messed up my brain totally because I thought that it was going to be so hard! I got t=4 aswell! Did anyone get time=10.8 mins for the very last question?

i rounded it to 10 and three quarter minutes. i did it wrong at first and got 2.7 minutes and tought: nah this cant be right. :confused:

worked it out again and got the right answer

Hi, I thought c4 was a pretty good exam, completely surprised me, because I was sure it would be really hard. I also got t=4 and 10.8 for the last part of the last qu.

Can anyone remember the answer for the vector question where you had to fing the perp. vector?? I think I got (4,0,?)
